The Dewhurst Group was founded in 2018 and is a family run organisation, with two of the Dewhurst family, Paul and John currently at the helm.
The Dewhurst family name is deep-rooted within the Preston Area, carrying out commercial and industrial engineering since the late 1800’s. In fact, the great grandfather of the current joint managing directors founded the original electrical company with a few pounds of his own money when Her Majesty Queen Victoria was on the throne. They even had a shop in the middle of Preston that was one of the first electrical showrooms to be established on a high street in England.
Having built a strong and highly trusted status within the electrical engineering sector, the 21st century has seen the organisation develop their operations into new areas of the industry. Dewhurst Airfield Services have worked worldwide on airport ground lighting projects, establishing a first-class reputation. And a highly skilled and growing workforce has powered the development of Dewhurst Utility Services. Both companies are led by operations directors Derek Calloway and Jason Critchley, respectively.
Dewhurst Utility Services designs, installs and commissions electric, gas and water supplies to domestic, commercial and industrial premises. Joint managing director John Dewhurst “We are incredibly proud to be still building on the strong foundation created by our family predecessors. But we are also looking to the future – and we see the Infrastructure sector as a key part in that development.” He added: “We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality and professionalism.”
